Belvoir Park Golf Club is one of the best parkland golf courses in Ireland. This book shows its history and how it is today. The book has the sub-title ‘A Celebration’ and every chapter has in its heading the word ‘Celebration’. This is because the members of Belvoir have a celebration every time they play the course - a celebration of a truly magnificent golf course. This book is for anyone who has any interest in Belvoir whether as a player or a visitor. It aims to help you see the evolution of this jewel. The book covers the history of the Belvoir demesne, the club’s history since 1927, when it was founded, its current scope and activities and its future plans. For some readers it will be news that the course was designed by the famous golf architect Harry S. Colt and, as a way of thanks, a lithograph of the great man is included on this first page.
